Animated Life Lessons

Hey guys! It's me again, TALIA, and here's another blog post for you to read. What we've been working on for the past weeks is Puppet Warping and Animations. We have just finished our final Animation which works with puppet warping as you probably know if you've read my previous blog post. I hope you enjoy this post and feel free to read any of my previous post about the projects I've worked on earlier in the year.

My teammates, Raiden and Leilia, have kind of opposite personalities. Raiden is the type of person to tell you his opinions and if you like them he likes you, but if you don't then don't even try talking to him nah jkjk. Raiden is bold and is very creative. He comes up with some of the greatest ideas you'll ever hear, he's great with animation, he gets very hyped like when people roast other people , and he can do all sorts of accents and in this case, he did a Bruce Buffer accent and was pretty good at that. Leilia my other teammate is kind of the opposite from Raiden she's a go with the flow type of person and she's ok with going along on some of our ideas. For example, the project we're working on right now Raiden proclaimed his idea of a dance battle and she and I just went with it. She also judges others which is why we chose her to be the bully, just kidding in real life she's super nice. We just used her to be mean in the animation because I wanted to be the winner haha *laughing emoji*. Raiden was the dance battle commentator because first of all he knows how to make a Bruce Buffer voice second he's very hype and in this he needed to be excited so that the viewers got a sense that he loves when people roast each other, as I said earlier.

In this animation we of course had to add some type of humor. What my team and I did was we had Raiden record his voice overs in a bruce buffer voice and if you don't know who that is then you can just click this LINK!! Anyways going back to humor. We also had Raiden use his voice as Leilia and my voice. In my opinion I think that was pretty funny and it will be for sure funny to you guys, hopefully. Our life lesson is to not BULLY because bullying is very bad and there needs to be a STOP to it. People judge each other all the time and that's what Leilia was doing to me in the video. She was judging me because I didn't look "tough" enough to dance against her, but I won in the end because little did she know I was a skilled performer. The main reason we made this was to get across the point that bullying is a terrible thing to do and it could end up hurting you instead of your target.

For this project Mr. Sanderl had us work with people that we had never worked before this school year. I had as you know Leilia and Raiden and they were both great people to work with. Raiden was great with helping out with ideas and actually animating some of the scenes he contributed a lot and so did Leilia. They were both very helpful to the team and I'm glad I got to work with them. The biggest challenge we probably faced was when we had to actually use the puppet warp tool. My team members and I could not get that thing to work the way we wanted. It was very hard for us to actually move our arms and get the body parts to move in the direction we wanted. I think we all did a great job on this project and the best moment we probably had was when we were editing the entire project and just all of the crazy ideas that we all came up with.

Character Development

Hey guys! It's me again and third quarter has just ended and it's the start of our final quarter. 4th quarter! The project we'll be working on for this part of the 4th quarter is puppet warping. What is puppet warping? you might ask . Well Puppet Warping is when you move certain points of an image by placing a mesh over the image when you use it in Photoshop and place pins over the parts you want to move. I hope you enjoy this blog post!!

In this project we have to make a pose associated to how we are like and our personality. Personally, I think that I am kind of perky, fun, and crazy. In this case I would probably pose with my hands in a weird position because I'm pretty weird. I'd also tilt my head or shake my head or something like that because I'M CRAZY!! Some imperfections I think I have are that I get kind of mad when things don't go the right way and I get frustrated if people aren't really following or doing the right things. For example, if I'm trying to teach someone something and they don't get it I try to understand , but it just gets really frustrating when they don't understand and I have to keep repeating myself. I feel like I should try and be more optimistic when in a frustrating situation. That's an imperfection I think I have.

The character that we create will definitely look weird because we are suppose to exaggerate and make the character traits of us look wacky. Some character traits I plan on exaggerating are my arms, legs, probably my head, and some certain parts of my face or my facial features because I just want my character to just go everywhere and look crazy! In order to do this I'll need to mess around with my different body parts and make them long, short, and curved, etc.

The process I had to use to actually create this .GIF animated character is going to be a challenge, but I know that I can accomplish it if I work super duper hard! If you want to learn what I did to finish this project keep reading. First of all, I had to take pictures I took 3, but you just need one I took 3 to give me an option on what I could use. I decide to use the one of me facing forward with my legs and arms spread apart so that I could make adjustments in Photoshop. After I took the pictures I had to cut them out in PhotoShop then I used my puppet warp tool and went to work. I added a background, drew some designs in my background, and saved it as a .GIF file. I really like my .GIF animated character because the way it moves really focuses on how I act and my personality sort of.

.MOV Film Festival

Hey guys!! Its me again, Talia, and you know what that means it's another blog post and this one is about guess what.............Our Movie Trailer!!! Yes! we're doing movie trailers once again I know we did it last year, but our class really wanted to do it again and I'm excited to do it again as well. If you would like to see my fantastic acting and my teammates from last years movie trailer than just Click HERE. I hope you enjoy this blog post and I'd like to thank all of you people who take the time to view my blogs THANK YOU!! Enjoy!!

Our movie trailer is about a famous superstar named, Kimchee Kartrashian, and I am pretty sure you guys know where my team and I got this very special name from, but anyways it's about how Kimchee, a superstar, gets kidnapped by who she has know clue is and it's up to her goofy bodyguard, Kurly, to save her. In our movie trailer we had to first come up with a plan and in this plan it involved keywords, a purpose for the idea, plot, and people or characters it also had to have a script with multiple scenes. For our keywords in the plan we chose to use Adventurous, Funny, lighthearted, and Amusing pretty much because that's what we wanted the movie to be and have the characters do. Adventurous was one of our words because in the movie trailer Kurly has to go on a crazy adventure to find Kimchee and that connects with our audience because I'm pretty sure we've all lost something and had to find it. This is funny because come on Kurly going on an adventure is just hilarious everybody loves a funny person. Our trailer is also lighthearted and amusing because Kurly is very lighthearted and carefree. Finally, it's amusing because there are so many great moment sin this trailer and they can bring up some very fun and happy times.

Our reason for creating the idea of this trailer is to pretty much to just let everyone know that it doesn't matter who you are to know that you can do something and accomplishing it. In this trailer it shows that even a goofy body guard like Kurly can go on a super adventure to try and find someone important to her and she doesn't care if she's goofy or a little odd, but she still goes out of her way and tries to find Kimchee. We just wanted to let you guys know that what doesn't matter is who you are, but what does matter is your determination and effort to do something that counts.

During the entire process of creating this trailer we did unfortunately face a couple of disagreements with each other. I think that one of our biggest problems were scheduling and the quality of some shots that were taken in the shooting process of this trailer. Our scheduling was pretty bad. For example two of us would have sports, other events, or some type of after school thing to attend to so there would be only one person available to shoot and two people would be doing something else; and one person can't be doing all of the work EVERYBODY has to be contributing to the project. Our other problem was the fact that one of our members had a shot that was debatable on whether we should use or not. This shot would have been a very valuable shot that could've have made the scene very extreme which is what we were going for, but our team member didn't want to use it because she thought it looked kind of weird, but we thought it added a lot of interest in the scene; and after trying to talk her into letting us use the clip she still didn't want to use it and we respected her decision and tried to make it work and I think it worked out pretty well. We took a tough situation and turned it into something great.

(I don't have my behind the scenes because I couldn't get them from the server folder and I don't have the video up either because it's not in vimeo, but I will upload them soon!)

Tiny Spherical Worlds

Hey guys!! it's me again TALIA!! I'm back from my 3 day weekend and 3rd Mid Quarter just passed and I am PUMPED!!! I am very excited for our new project which you're probably wondering what it is and i'm about to tell you ready? 1..............2...............3..............it's PANORAMAS!!! If you're unsure of what a panorama is i'll tell you right now. A Panorama is an image created by taking multiple pictures and overlapping each picture from the previous photo taken to create a wide viewed image of an observers surrounding area.

Composite images, different pictures taken to create a more advanced image that's beyond the works of a camera. Composite images are in my opinion very interesting they take multiple images to give you a great depth of feeling for the image so that you can look at it and just be wowed . The point of composite images is to give you a better understanding of the situation and setting so you can comprehend better what is happening it gives the viewer a way nicer image with multiple layers of astonishment. One picture is great, but can be a little boring, but multiple pictures are better because they add more depth and make the visuals stand out more. When I take one picture I try to make it look really interesting by getting different angles and finding different object that will make the shot stand out, but I think that with composite images I can just take a couple pictures of something and it will make the shot look a whole lot better.

In this project we're working with both spherical and polar panoramas. Polar panoramas are
when you take a panoramic photo and use the polar coordinates filter in photoshop after you turn the image 180 degrees to create a circular image that gives the appearance of a panorama wrapped around a planet. A spherical Panorama is when you take a panoramic image and instead of turning the image 180 degrees you go straight into the filter, polar coordinates, and you get the appearance of the sky being turned into like a sphere or circular shape. the difference between them is that both of their finished products are the opposite of each other. In the polar pano the land is turned into a circle shape while in the spherical pano the sky is turned into the circular shape.

The tiny worlds that we have been working on are suppose to be convincing, but also pop out. In order for that to happen what I had to do is use my editing skills and make my portraits stand out by making them big, bold, and bright. Making it big wasn't really a challenge for me I increased the size of my portrait because it was really small when I imported it into my finished images and increasing the size just made it look like I was actually on top of the world. I made it bold by adding the shadow just like how everybody else did as well, but I also edited my portrait in Adobe to make my body and face really pop. Finally, I made it bright by making the saturation in all of my images really bright.

Hockney Style Joiners

Hey guys it's me again and you know what this is, another blog post and if you're viewing this thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog and while you're here make sure to scroll beneath this post to all of my other post and check those out too. I hope you enjoy this post and stay tuned to next weeks post, Thank You! Now a little update of what we'll be doing in GT. Right now the GT students at KMS are working on Photomontages. If you don't know what photomontages are here's a  brief explanation. Photomontages are when you take several different photos and arrange them to create a new picture or abstract art.

David Hockney is the perfect example of someone who knows how to capture art when working with photomontages. David Hockney is an influential pop artist known for creating photomontages. He has created some very excellent photomontages and I as well have some photomontages that i've created, but between the two of us ours aren't exactly the same. First of all, we both have different meanings behind the photomontage and purpose we have when actually going out and taking the pictures. Basically the first way we're different is by the meaning and thought we have when we create the entire photomontage and the process that we do it in. Another way we're different is how we arrange the images and what we prefer for our montages to look like.

There are different meanings behind every single photo that is taken in the world wether it's intended or not there is no picture that doesn't have a meaning. Those meanings can send either a positive or negative message to the viewer based on how they look at it. They can look at the things around the image to get a sense of what the image is trying to show and the color of it too. For example, if I were to look at a picture of a sun in the sky I would probably look at the color of the sky and other things that are in the picture to see what the feel of the picture is. If the sky is like blue than I would probably think of how nice it looks, but somebody else could think that it's a negative sign and how when you look at the sun it hurts your eyes. Sometimes when you look at a picture and think it's either positive or negative just remember somebody else could think the total opposite of what you think the picture means.

For my final photomontage I want people to really look at it and get the sense of my athletic side and see what I want to keep doing further in life; I enjoy being athletic especially when I'm playing soccer. Soccer is the main focus for this photomontage because I'm really looking forward to seeing how I will progress from my soccer process and my achievements with the sport. I have a very strong feeling for the sport mainly because I've been playing it almost my whole life and its just grown on me and I just really enjoy playing it. I hope to keep doing the sport when I get older and maybe even make it a profession of mine. In my photomontage the soccer shoes are representing my association with soccer and the road is symbolizing the long journey ahead I have with the sport. I hope that when people view and look over my photomontage they'll see my feelings for soccer and that i want to continue with soccer and can't wait for the journey ahead.

2016 Aspirations

Doorknob

Hey guys it's me again your girl Talia and this blog post is about my 2016 aspirations as you can see in the title above. Well I hope you like this post and please comment if you have anything to say or think I should improve on my writing or just anything thanks for your time and thanks for viewing this. I have a lot of aspirations I would love to accomplish this year in 2016. First of all, I would really like to get a 4.0 on my final grade for my 8th grade year; that would be amazeballzz:)) I also want to try and accomplish all of my sports activities before going to high school and even when I get to high school I want to do some sports there too when I'm a freshman which is in the year 2016. Another thing I'd like to accomplish is showing my best and highest quality of work throughout my  entire school year. Also, I'd like to enter high school with a fresh mind and body so I can import all of the new knowledge I'll be learning which I am extremely excited for and entering high school as a freshman so that'll be exciting. Also,  to learn a new language. Finally, this isn't really a school aspiration, but it's my health and life aspiration and it's to eat healthier, exercise more, and wake up earlier on both school days and weekdays just because I think I'm going to get a healthier mind by keeping myself in shape and fit. Those are just 5  aspirations I would love to accomplish this year in 2016 and it's only January so thankfully I have a lot of time:))

                                      Tree

Out of all of these 2016 goals I think the most important one to me would probably be to keep my body and my mind healthy just because with a strong and healthy mind and body you have a clear idea of what you want in life and you're able to achieve it. Without a fit mind you practically can't do anything because your mind is off track and sluggish which is not the key to being able to focus and create a high quality of work. With high work you feel better about yourself because you put in the best work you could and it just looks professional. With an active mind you get an active body which I would love to have by the end of the year and I'm pretty much almost there because I believe i've got a pretty healthy mind I would suggest to just go to bed earlier so that my mind is fresh in the morning and I have gotten the necessary amount of seep that I should have every night. I wish to stick to my plan and accomplish it by the end of this year of 2016!
Sky
To be successful this year I will need to work on a lot of things and by a lot I mean a lot of things! First of all, what I'll mainly have to do to be successful is think successful. By thinking successful my mind will start to go on the right track and I'll already be part way there to the successful station. To think successful you need to think of what your best work will look like and work, work, work! And that's just what I'm going to have to do this year to be successful. I'll also probably have to keep a positive attitude towards anything and everything and extinguish all of the negativity because if I'm just negative all of the time my mind will be stuck and gloomy which isn't what I want it to be at all, I want it to be bright and happy. When it's happy it'll be able to think because that's how my mind works. In order to be successful I have to be happy and positive and if my mind isn't working than I'm basically not functioning in an excellent way. Finally, I'll have to stay focused and be determined to accomplish what I set my mind to. Which is going to be a real hard goal because I procrastinate quite a bit, but I know that i'll be able to stay focused and work hard to finish and reach my goal.

Scratch Game Design

Freedom Game

Platform Game

Chase Game

Hey guys!! so I just created my game and if you want to play it it's right above this passage and be sure to leave a comment telling me what you thought of my chase game, Enjoy! Lets talk about my user experience and how it influenced my game. So, I thought that as the gamer plays my game it would be nice to throw in some vibrant and unique characters as well as a odd background to go with the unusual sprites. I think the smoothness of how the dinosaur moves is pretty well and I added the arrows to move it because almost everyone knows where they're located and they are very easy to use. the cake tries to catch the dinosaur and moves very nicely. The four watermelons are placed in a straight plain line almost as if they were set up as a finish line. I've played a lot games with bright vibrant colors so I just thought they would be a great addition.

Anyway, in my first game that I created, (my chase game) our task was to make a game where something was chasing another thing. I wanted my game to pop out so I chose some sprites that I though would be pretty unique together! I had the donut as the chaser and the player was the dinosaur. The object of the game was to collect all 5 watermelons and avoid the donut until the timer got to 0. We were told to make a chase game with a scoreboard and I am pretty proud for accomplishing that on my first chase game. In my second game (my platform game) we had to design a game where we had to jump onto platform thingies until you get to the top or something similar to that where there was a goal when you got to the end or top. For this game our requirements was to have 2 levels, and design our own platform game with a countdown timer. I had this in my game! Both of my games had timers, donuts, and goal they had to reach. But only one of them has a scoreboard.

During this project I think that I've come face to face or should I say face to screen with some difficult bugs that occurred in my games especially since most of the time I was asking questions, but didn't really get an answer. Anyways, some bug fixes that appeared while I was coding was most of the time the sprite/ character wasn't moving the way it's supposed to move. For example, in my platform game if you just continuously press the up arrow the donut, my sprite, won't come down it'll just keep going up and up and up. According to Mr. Sanderl I need to add an and block to make sure that the sprite will come down when I press the up arrow. While on the other hand of my bugs I think my best code would have to be the smoothness of the way my characters move like when you press the up, down, left, or right arrow the sprite moves very smoothly and effectively, but yeah i think that's probably my best coding.

Invention Commercial

P1T9_Invention from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

Hey guys!! It's me again and we're working on another project and this assignment has to do with inventions!! Our project for GT was to create a commercial that represents an invention that my team and I had thought of. Our invention idea was Track- Attack; here's a little rundown of what our invention does. The track- Attack is an app that hooks up and connects to little tracking devices that you attach to everything you'd usually lose. After you've hooked up the little devices to your object you set up all of the settings to your preferences and you're ready to use the TRACK-ATTACK!! When you lose your object just go to the Track-Attack app and it'll tell you exactly where your object is. My team consisted of two people Lani and Asha to whom I know very well. My team's main goals in this assignment was to finish off strong with the best effort we could possibly put into the commercial and to edit our hardest by working with each other and communicating our own ideas so that the commercial turns out better than it would've been with just one person's ideas. To accomplish these goals we worked together, put in our own ideas, edited continuously while listening to each others opinions, etc. Personally, I think we accomplished each and every one of our main goals because our commercial video turned out pretty good.

While this project was very successful there were also a lot of complications that we had with each other and each one of our ideas, but thankfully we communicated and didn't give up and solved most of the situations. We had a lot of spectacular moments working as a team. To be honest I think the best "team moment" was when we actually went out and filmed all of the b-roll shots and footage to import into our video because it was just really fun coming up with different ideas; for me acting was pretty cool just because it was interesting to come up with a scene and use my professional acting skills and create something amazing. The effort that my team andI put into this project really shows the determination we have when it comes to work. I just think that the filming part of the project was really fun and exciting just because I got to work with my teammates and especially because I got to climb into a dryer; actually that really hurt and was very difficult.

During the post-production editing we each had a job and tried our best to accomplish the job we were assigned. The jobs we were assigned were because we had the best profession at it. Lani's job for this production was to do most of the filming of me acting out the different shots we needed for the video. She also edited most parts of the film while it was in imovie and she supplied the setting for the video to take place in. We decided that Lani should do the most editing because she was more experienced with editing and the imovie tools. Asha did a very good job at recording my voice overs and also helping Lani out with editing the commercial she also helped come up with excellent ideas for our plan. My job was to of course act. I think I did pretty well at that. Then I recorded voice overs that would be placed over the Audio roll above the B-roll. Finally I helped Lani edit the entire commercial as well as Asha and that's basically the jobs we had.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

Hey guys!! It's me again and guess what.... we have a new project! COMPOSITION TECHNIQUES! Well I'll continue to write and hopefully you will continue to read. To me I think that all of the composition techniques are very important in their own way, but if I had to choose just one it would probably be Rule of Thirds.  First of all, if you don't know what Rule of thirds is than here ya go because i'm going to explain it for you. Rule of Thirds is basically a grid on your camera and there are three lines intersecting with each other from a horizontal and vertical way. What you do in those lines is, for rule of thirds (subject), you place the subject's eyes in one of the intersecting line. For rule of thirds (scenery) you fill one third of the grid with either sky or land and so the other 2 thirds are filled with the opposing scenery. Basically that's what rule of thirds is and now here's why I think  that this composition technique is the most important one out of all of them. I think that this composition technique would be more useful than any other composition technique because you can use it in multiple ways and for different imagery. For example, Rule of Thirds is usually used when shooting an interview, you place the subject in the rule of thirds. You can also use Rule of Thirds for scenery which really adds interest in the video or image.

During this project there were a lot of difficulties within the composition techniques and I think the most difficult one is high angle. I just think that if you were to shoot something that involved the composition technique, high angle, you'd have to go through the struggle of finding something to stand on or place the camera on so that you're above the subject, but not to high that it's not even high angle anymore, but it's actually a birds eye camera angle. Trying to find a spot to place the camera and the difficulties of operating the camera as it's in that weird position is just too much to handle when you can just ease the struggle and find a different composition technique to use in your video. You can use this technique more in when you're trying to go above and beyond and you're just trying to find that one spectacular shot, but eve though it's a little struggle if you use it correctly it could enhance your video by a lot. In my opinion I just think that high angle would be the most difficult to use, but you could use it more to enhance you video.

My teammates are probably the most incredible teammates you could ever have. We play around a lot with each other, but we also work really well as a team just because we all have different personalities that combine together really well; my teammates are Luscious Lani and Amazing Asha. If I had to describe Lani in three words they would probably be krazy, I used k instead of c because she's that krazy, i'd also use the words adventurous and goofy.  I chose these words because Lani represents all of them she is definitely krazy because she can just go and do something extraordinary like if we're playing D.A.R.E and I give her a really stupid one she'll actually go for it. She's determined because if she has her mind set to something and wants it done than she'll go the extra mile to accomplish her task, but also putting her 100% effort into it. Finally, she's goofy because she cracks me up and I die laughing when i;m with her and that's everyday so I basically laugh everyday. Asha is hilarious, a good friend, and very daring. She can do a lot of stuff if she  is ready to do it and she just makes me laugh. What Lani did in this project is she was the subject in some of the shots and she read some of what the composition techniques were and she also put the clips together in imovie. Asha was the subject in some parts f the video, she read some meanings of the composition techniques, and she adjusted the time and audio levels in imovie. Finally, I was the camera operator and I recorded the subject, I was in like one shot of the video, and I added the text layovers on the composition techniques in imovie.

Cracking the Code

Hey guys!! It's me again and I have a brand new project in GT that the entire class will be working on. I'm pretty sure that most of you have had some experience or at least know a little bit about the project and if you don't than stay tuned because i'll be explaining my thoughts and my opinions on wait for it........Coding!! Yes I know, coding, it's pretty important, but not a lot of people have interest in it because they think it's boring or unnecessary to have. Well I think that if we didn't have coding we wouldn't have most of the technology we have right now. For example, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Without coding these websites and many more wouldn't be able to be seen. I think that people should be learning code because first of all it would be a great experience because you'd have an idea of what it takes to create and come up with electronics. Coding can help you better understand the process of what and how your electronics read the coding put into its system.  I am actually very excited to learn the ways of coding and I hope that you stick around to see the finished project.

I've actually used coding before , but it wasn't an entire project to work on it was just a little activity that my teacher made the class do because she thought it would be a good experience. My first experience using code was in 6th grade in my English class surprisingly, but i'm not totally sure of why we were working with code. Anyways I was in 6th grade when I first came face to face or should I say face to screen with coding. We used the same coding website where it created coding activities and you had to figure out how to solve the problem or situation. Over the two years i've done that they've created many new activities like frozen and angry birds. Back then we used halloween types of characters because of course it was in the time of halloween. As I used that website I sort've got the understanding of how coding works, but of course those were just the minor steps in coding and not the advanced stuff because the characters and actions were already set up for us we just had to put them in order which isn't that hard not that I look at it. Well, yeah that was the first time I used coding. I hope this time while i'm using coding I'll become more advanced than I was two years ago and I can achieve higher levels of work.

If I could create a game it would have to consist of watermelons, trampolines, and of course an Australian Shepherd. Basically in this game you get to pick either a female or male character and you can design the character any way you'd want to; there would be hair styles, makeup, facial hair styles, and of course clothing. Once you're done customizing your character you'd be ready to PLAY!! The main object of the game is that you get a pair of Australian shepherd puppies and you take care of them until you reach the set goal which is at 15,000 points. Once you've hit that score you move on to the next level and in this game there are 5 levels. Anyway after you've hit that level you go on to the next level which include trampolines and WATERMELONS!! You keep leveling up and when you hit level 5 which is the hardest level of all. This is what I would love for my game design to be of

My Humorous Monologue

Hey guys! It's Talia again and here's a continuation of our current project in GT, a Comedic Monologue. In my last two post I wrote a couple things about the project that we're working on in GT. Here's some thought that I had and what I personally though of this project. Well anyways I hope you enjoy this blog post and continue to follow me through out my last year as a middle schooler. From this project I have learned how to write an excellent narrative and come up with most fascinating shots of B-roll, and I now know how to engage with my viewer a little better. To find out how to write out a good narrative my teacher, Mr. Sanderl, had the entire GT class research and look up jokes, phrases, how to videos, etc. And he just had us do a lot of researching and observing on how those people wrote their narratives and jokes. As we came up with the requirements yesterday I realized that I should probably reshoot some things because they could've been a little more interesting and have a little more effort put into them. For instance, one shot of mine was very boring and it didn't really view as interesting, so I checked out a camera and reshot that specific clip and some other clips as well.

PAD! It's very important when shooting video especially when the video has a voice in it. First of all I think I'll tell you what pad actually is before I start explaining some details about it. Pad is when you record video more likely with voice and you record about five seconds of dead silence before the actual voice or action starts to happen, so that when you're in your video editor program you'll have some space in that clip to make adjustments and cut out some unnecessary things. Pad can make your audio sound amazing or it can make it sound kind of bad it just depends on how you edit the pad in to making it pretty good. In my humorous monologue I attempted to use pad and succeeded at most of them so that my audio sounded excellent. When I used pad it made my audio for my monologue flow together since they were all the same audio levels.

During this project I had a lot of strengths, but I also had some weaknesses. Some strengths I had were that I had great imagery and very nice clips of a beautiful background which was the beach. I really liked how my clips turned out and I thought that they made the story look real instead of having the setting in my room with a fake background. A weakness I had was that I didn't have a mic pack, but I mean neither did anyone else except those who really needed it. My audio was ok, but I could've improved on it. Something I can improve on is my composition techniques I didn't really shoot a lot of interesting angles or have much composition techniques which would have made my video way better.

Comedy Writing

Hey guys!! It's Talia and here's another blog for you guys:)) Well our current project for GT is a pretty fun one and it has to deal with humor and comedy. I think that you guys will be very excited for this project because obviously it's going to make you laugh and your going to be amused by my amazing humor; well enough about me now about the actual project. Sense of humor is a very important character trait because it symbolizes what your like and your personality. Just the way you tell the joke and the type of joke can say so much about you like if it's simple it can mean many things like your simple and you aren't to complex to deal with and many other things. With out a sense of humor you'd just take everything seriously and wouldn't laugh at anything; that is a major problem because to have a successful, happy, and healthy life you need to smile or laugh or else you'll just be gloomy and down every day. If you ain't got no sense of humor than you ain't got no life. Sorry I just had to put that because come on it can crack you up.

This project consist of us writing a humorous narrative that's pretty much the base of the entire project because in order to film we need to have something to film off of which would be the humorous narrative. Here are some tips that you can use to create an excellent narrative that is quite funny to your audience. The first thing to do when writing a narrative is finding something to write about, so the first tip is going to be about how you can find what to write about. The first tip is that you should probably write about something that your audience can relate to like if there middle schoolers or any type of people with homework than you can do that. Another tip is that you should probably make your words very descriptive and detailed because you want your listener to actually visualize what you're saying so that they have an idea and react to your joke or funny saying. Tip 3 is that you can always switch up your wording to make it funnier or whatever. Here's tip 4 make your joke clear and understandable don't have one part that talks about  a fish and another part talks about a dog unless those two objects have a relationship with each other in the monologue or joke. Number 5 is Just have fun with writing your narrative because either way if someone doesn't like the narrative you can always say that at least one person liked it even though that one person might be you.

My comedic monologue is about my entire family and how one day just a couple weeks ago we went to the beach right next to this really fancy and nice restaurant. Anyways we jumped in and cooled off from a pretty intense day. My dad and mom along with me decided to get out and just cool off. My dad had just gotten a new hammock like a week before and this was going to be the first time we were using it. Anyways my dad and I decided to sit on his brand new hammock I asked him to pass me my gatorade, but he disagreed with me and told me to get up and grab it myself. We argued for a couple of minutes, but I then realized that I was being stubborn too and just got up and grabbed it myself, but before I could walk over to get my gatorade I hear a huge CRASH! I turned my head and see my dad on the ground with his hammock on top of him. I think that my narrative was funny because just the fact that my dad had a hammock on his head cracked me up. I think thatr since he fell over on something, but also not getting hurt was pretty funny because it usually is pretty funny when people fall down and other things.

Music Videos Rock!

P5T6 Single Ladies from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

Hey guys!! It's me again and I hope that all of you guys have or had an amazing day:)) Are current project for GT that we are working on are MUSIC VIDEOS!! Hope you enjoy reading this weeks blog post and stay tuned for next weeks blog post. My team contributed really well. Lani and Asha were excellent when it came to the music video they both helped out a lot. For example, Lani had the MPD (Music Playback Device). Asha helped me with the production plan she came up with some pretty interesting things and she also helped with shooting asome shots when we were recording the clips. She even helped out when she was in the shot. Lani helped put a lot too, she did most of the editing and she got some incredible shots when we shot video. Without Lani and Asha, I probably wouldn't have been able to shoot a music video better yet edit it all by myself. I would suck and it would be terrible. I mean, I would have put a lot of effort in and tried at least, but it still wouldn't have been as a good as all of us working together.

I think the audience will enjoy the beginning of the music video because it's the best part of the video, it's where we're all synced to the music and it has the best shots which are wide, medium, and close. All of the shots we used for the beginning are extremely interesting and we were kind of brave to do some shots like the close up on our mouths for the lip-sync. Most of our shots in the entire music video are pretty synced and all match together, but some parts are unfocused a little which kind of makes our music video a little bad at times. Even though some of our shots are unfocused it's not the whole video that is blurry, so it doesn't really affect the entire music video. I think the audience will also like the parts of the music video where Asha is remembering how it used to be with her old "guy friend" because it just matches with the story we're trying to get out there.

Our Music Video shows what we learned this year because we as a team decided to add a band poster at the end of the video and we did some other incredible things with the video:)) Some things we used were composition techniques; we used some really Kool unusual angles (I used a K instead of C because it's prettier:!!).We also used a lot of special effects which are really Kool because they make us look a lot more weird and pretty fantabulous... If you know what I mean:))All of the special effects that we used were super helpful they created a version of us that was surreal and creative which really made our shots interesting!! That's the end of this blog post and guess what, pretty soon it's going to be the end of school and I won't be a seventh grader anymore:))!! I'm so so so happy well I hope to keep up with you guys during the summer because this is my last school blog post!! BYE!!

Motivational Poster

Hey guys!! Today i'll be writing about what i'm currently working on in GT which is, a Motivational Poster as you can see, it is the title for this blog. Well anyways I hope you enjoy this post and the rest of my story will be below!!ENJOY!!

If you're wondering what the requirements are for this motivational poster is you're in luck because i'll be explaining what they are right now! For this poster there will be a total of 4 images in the motivational poster one portrait of yourself and 3 symbolic images of what represents you I chose a small little plant because in the world Im just a small part of it, but i’ll go a long way and grow as I get older; I’ll achieve many of my goals and become what i’ve always wanted to be just like a plant i'll get stronger in the future and like the plant's many leaves I as well have many talents. My second image is my soccer cleats because they're so dependable for me and i'm dependable when it comes to someone needing my help. They're bright and have sharp cleats like I have a sharp mind. My final symbolic image is the sun. I think that the sun represents me because I need people in my life. The people who I care most about are like the ocean I reflect on them and they shine right back onto me and I need them because without them I'd have no purpose in life. In the motivational poster you also need a total of 2 text layers, one is going to be a your personal quotes and the other o-manifesto. Those are the layer requirements now for the design requirements. All of your text should be Kerned to fill up the entire page with absolutely no blank space All text should be KERNED to fit across the entire page with no holes or blank spaces. We need a triadic color scheme which consist of 1 dominant color and 2 accent colors. There should also be your Text layer blending options which are drop shadow, stroke, outer glow, and bevel & emboss. Finally there should be adjustment layers over the images.

The first thing I did when creating the motivational poster is I wrote down some personal quotes that I live by and hope to accomplish by the end of the year. Then, I opened PhotoShop and added the personal quotes in there and personalized them to fit the entire page and I just played around with the fonts, text size, and the width of the spacing. Next, I added my manifesto in there and did the same thing that I did with my personal quotes. Then, I took 3 symbolic images and added them to the PhotoShop document that I was working on. Speaking of images I also had Kyler my photographer take a portrait picture that I approved on and added that to PhotoShop. Finally, I worked hard and just edited the layers to make it appealing to my eye; I did that by adjusting the text the images and some other things that I thought looked excellent I followed all of the requirements and made sure that my piece of work looked like the best work I could do. I am actually very proud of my work

This project was a struggle at some points, but I managed to get though those difficulties and finish with a strong meaningful piece of work. The probably most struggle I had was when I had t choose the colors for my triadic color scheme and probably when I had to arrange the text and images to fit perfectly with each other. It was pretty difficult because some images were bigger than others and I also had to find what fonts I wanted to put over my actual text, that was a struggle too, but I think the most struggle I had was KERNING!!! I just could not figure out how to kern the text so that it would fit perfectly in the photoShop document, but I just kept playing with the adjustment tools so that it would actually fit and guess what it worked and the text fit perfectly. I also wouldn't have done it with out Mr. Sanderl's tutorials on how to Kern, butI also used prior knowledge from last year .

Personal Manifesto

Hey guys!! it's Talia and I'm back at school from summer break... and guess what....I'm....in....8th Grade!! I'm so excited to be back at school haha just kidding not really, but it is great to see my friends and all of the new people attending KMS and I don't know why, but i'm so excited for the new assignments that we'll be working on in GT.

Our current one is known as our personal manifestos. I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but that's why i've decided to hit you guys up with a little something about myself just to remind you guys of the amazing person you followed on blogger, but here are 5 interesting things about me.Speaking of cool things we're doing a pretty sick project right now it's called a manifesto. A manifesto is a creative proclamation that shares your personal beliefs or ideas.  In our classes we are using quotes that we like to tell ourselves; here are 5 things that i'm very interested in. 1.I love to play soccer I have a strong passion it's as if I were the soccer ball when I play 2. I LOVE seedless watermelon and not any watermelon it has to be seedless:)) 3. I like to take a lot of artsy pictures and landscape photos like beaches or mountains, etc 4. I like to hike the sleeping giant which is a mountain in the back of our house. 5 Finally I just like to hangout with my family and friends.

My  manifesto consists of what I would like to do with my life and how I want to control it. Here is my manifesto ENJOY! I hope to live by what my Manifesto says because I truly believe that I can accomplish my goals. my goals really make an impact on my life and what happens to it because it's my decision on if I want to follow my goals or deny them; if I follow them my life will continue to go on the right path, but if I don't I'll fall behind. Here is my manifesto ENJOY! I really want to Stay Healthy, Be active, Learn A lot, Be Respectful, Have a Passion for what I truly believe in, associate with people who respect me and reflect goodness on others also, stay tuned to my inner self, be the person I've always wanted to be, inspire others to be who they really are, Be proud of my achievements, Take control of my life and decide who gets to be in it, Be in control, and live life to the fullest.

My manifesto applies to my readers because I think that they should follow some of the things that I believe in. I mean if you don't want to take control of your life then that's fine with me, but i think you should at least try to put some effort into it so that you feel comfortable. I think you need to express who you think your are and just be honest with yourself. Most of the things I believe in are what I think my life should be in control of. You can believe in anything as long as you're okay with it and you will truly have a strong reason why you believe in the things you believe in. Okay guys!! Well that was all i had to share with you I hope you guys have an amazing summer for those of you that are still on summer; I wish those of you a great rest of the year if you're off of summer and you're suffering like me, but I just want to say thanks for always tuning in to when I publish my new blog posts almost every week I appreciate your interest in my school and sometimes my personal life.

Lyrical Livelihood

Hey guys!! It's Talia again and I'm so excited about our new 4th quarter GT project. Our new Gt project for 4th quarter is MUSIC VIDEOS!! I can't wait to start filming and lip syncing to our favorite songs!! Keep reading to see what I think about this new project, but you can probably already tell that I am extremely excited.

My favorite song is "Someone like you" by Adele. This is one of many songs that Adele has created and sang, there's just something about this song that stands out to me than all of the others. I really like the lyrics for this song because it's about how Adele found true love long ago, but it ended and she's been trying to get over it, but she can't and to make it worst he gets married and now she has a whole bunch of mixed emotions. She tries to remind him of her and hopefully he'll see that he loves her too. I just really like how she went through all that trouble and how she still wants him to like her, but nothing changes and I just LOVE how she still remembers what he said to her a long time ago and that she tries showing him that she still cares.

My team and I picked the song " Single Ladies" by Beyonce. We chose this song because we all thought that it was a cool and up beat song sang by one our favorite singers. The song is also relatable because sadly my team and I, Lani and Asha, are single. We thought this song really had some meaning behind it and it's just a really good song. The song "Single Ladies" is about how a girl, Beyonce, is left alone and she meets a guy and a whole bunch of stuff happens and she's not single anymore, but in the beginning she'll feels lonely and tries dancing it off and forgetting about it. I think that we chose a really good song because it's so upbeat, fun, fast, and just really new for my team and I. With this song my team and I could create a really fun and interesting dance to go with it our groovy moves would make this song 10x better than just us singing.

Our visual story is saying that there's a girl and she has recently been in a relationship, but it ended so now she's single and another is crushing on her and her ex is getting kind of jealous so she sings about how he should of "Put a ring on it" when he had the chance:)) to create this video we'll try to have a boy and we'll be crushing on him, but he rejects us so, we start dancing and singing that we're single. After that we lip-sync to the music in our video and we'll have another guy crushing on us and the other boy will get jealous. We keep lip- syncing and dancing.

Our Animation Story

Hey guys!! it's me again the writer of this blog that you are of course reading right now, haha:)) Well hope you enjoy reading this blog post and make sure you tune into my next post enjoy!!

Our current project right now is to create an Animation based on a real life story that happened to one of our teammates. I explained what our story is about in my previous blog post so you can check that out after you're done with this one or you can take quick look and come back doesn't really matter to me:)) Our focus statement is "Raiden discovers Origami." Our focus statement basically tells the story of how Raiden found his true talent and the struggles he had along the way to actually discover it.
Our audience will learn that you can't just give up on something you have to look deep down because some talents come out of nowhere and you have to look for them. they will learn how to not give up from this animation by just watching and listening on how Raiden didn't give up and how he had to look for his talent and be dedicated to it so he could get better. The audience can listen to how he responded with other people who actually had talent and how he didn't have any talent, but he tried and tried and tried in finding something special and with heart and dedication he stumbled upon his new talent. We want to get across that you might think you don't have any talent or that you're just really boring, but the truth is you have to actually find your talent and your uniqueness because everyone is different in a lot of ways, but it's up to you to discover it.

Our best moments as a team were actually splitting up the jobs and all teammates collaborating together. Then after finishing the scenes, the sound track, and other things related to the animation we all got together and imported them into iMovie. The hardest moments as a team were at first figuring out great ideas for our focus statement and actually agreeing on one because we all had different ideas. Some of us didn't want the ideas others had like Raiden would come up with one idea and I didn't agree or i came up with one and Linden didn't agree. As time went on our team Raiden, Linden, Quinn, and me.

Well that's all for now hope all of you Talianators tune into my next blog post!! big spoiler alert, but our next project has something to do with music!!:)))) See you guys next time bye i love all of you:*!! <3<3<3<3
